ben_thatmustbeme re: http://socialwg.indiewebcamp.com/irc/social/2015-07-28#t1438088995667 ... I think you need to understand the microformats process better. If microformats (community) can go through its own process, and still manage to contribute or play along (whatever the right wording is here) with SocialWG's goals, than okay. Given MF's centralized approach to vocab development, I don't see it happening within a reasonable amount of time nor quality

. MF is extremely limited (by design .. which is fine) in its approach on what it can state. Point being: if MF is incapable of expressing some simple statements, that is no justification to change AS2.

And for the record, to all... microformats "outsourcing" vocabulary development to IWC doesn't justify anything. For something to be a MF "format" format, it needs to go through the MF process as it gave itself, and for the community. MF process is not solely about the use-cases or usage in IWC, but on the whole Web. Which effectively means that it needs to document most common practices from all over the Web (again: going beyond what IWC came up with or i

Case in point which actually in clear violation of the microformats process is h-cite. Have fun with that one.

csarven: microfrmats is not limited in expressing things, nor is it centralized. Read http://www.kevinmarks.com/microformatschema.html

it is a fair point that apparently h-cite used to exist for other things, but got too complex so it was tossed out and eventually got replaced by indieweb's use of h-cite
#
ben_thatmustbeme
if your complaint is the mf2 does not support citing in other situations, i would point out that this is the social web WG, not being able to cite books is not really something that i see as being of concern to the group

KevinMarks: i think i'm with you on the "inbox" carries a lot of connotation with it
#
tantek
connotation which is explicitly NOT in the actual user story steps
#
ben_thatmustbeme
looking at Silo usage "inbox" is definitely used exclusively for direct messages
#
tantek
right
#
ben_thatmustbeme
i'm talking about the AS2 type for inbox
#
tantek
do we have a separate user story on direct messages / private messages ?
#
ben_thatmustbeme
the user story has the same issue
#
KevinMarks
names do matter, which is why naming thing inboxes that are replies is a mistake
#
tantek
agreed - names matter in terms of (mis)communication
